Women for Dave

LAS VEGAS — David Marlon, running for the Las Vegas City Council in Ward 1, has earned the endorsement of former Nevada Senator Patricia Farley. Farley is also serving as the chief Co-Chair of Women for Dave, a coalition of leading Las Vegas women, friends and family of Dave Marlon who support him in his run for Las Vegas City Council, Ward 1.

“I have been fortunate to work with Dave Marlon on some of the most pressing issues facing our state, from crime to drug addiction,” Farley said. “There is no one who has more or better experience facing the challenges of local government than he does. I am proud to support him in his race to be Ward 1’s next city councilman and to serve as a co-chair of Women for Dave.”

Marlon founded and built one of the most successful addiction recovery centers in the country in the heart of Southern Nevada. “While at Solutions, I came to understand there are frequently challenges faced by women that need a tailored response. I will work diligently to make the communities in Ward 1 the safest, most inclusive communities in the state,” he said. “I’m honored to have these strong women by my side in this race.”

Victoria Quinn, Las Vegas planning commissioner for Ward 1, is also serving as a Co-chair of Women for Dave. “I have served on the planning commission for nearly 15 years, and I know Dave understands the issues facing Ward 1 better than any other candidate in this race,” Quinn stated. “I hope my Ward 1 neighbors will join me in casting their votes for Dave.”

Carolina Necochea Burgueño, who works in crisis stabilization and is a current UNLV graduate student studying Social Work, is the wife of David Marlon and is also a Co-chair of Women for Dave. She served 8 years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps. “My husband has been the difference maker in a positive way for many women in his life, and I know he will advocate for our issues as a City Councilman,” she said. “I was a single mother, and I know they need more opportunities to succeed, and flexible working environments. Dave understands these issues.”

Dave Marlon has been a Las Vegas resident for more than 30 years. He spent the past 11 as the CEO of Solutions Recovery, where he was recognized by his peers as a leader in his field. He is the President of the Southern Nevada Association of Addiction Professionals (SNAAP) and earned the 2018 National Advocacy Award from NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. Locally, he has been recognized as a graduate of the Leadership Las Vegas program, with the Mayor’s Commendation, and received the Community Counseling Center of Southern Nevada’s Vanguard Award.
