As we approach Election Day, I wanted to share a little about who I am, where I’ve been, and why I am asking for your vote.
I am not a career politician.
For more than three decades, I have built organizations, created jobs, solved problems, and served our community. I have had the privilege of serving as CEO of two publicly traded healthcare companies and leading organizations responsible for serving hundreds of thousands of people. I helped build one of Nevada’s largest addiction treatment providers and have founded and grown multiple nonprofit organizations, including the Care Coalition, Solutions Foundation, and Vegas Stronger.
Along the way, I earned an MBA and a Doctorate in Psychology, as well as my licenses for CPC, LCADC-S, and PRSS-S. I co-authored a book that became a national bestseller. Most importantly, I have spent my career turning ideas into reality.
The organizations I have helped build have succeeded because of two things: ingenuity and relentless hard work. When I see a problem, I don’t form another committee. I solve it.
Today, I look at Las Vegas and I see a City Council that has lost its way.
Residents are facing higher sewer fees, parking fees, pet fees, and other charges that function as tax increases for working families. At the same time, taxpayers have been left holding the bill for the $635 million Badlands settlement, a costly consequence of government failure.
In Ward 6, homelessness and panhandling have become increasingly visible over the last several years. This did not happen overnight, and it will not be solved overnight. But leadership matters. We need leaders who are willing to act decisively, hold people accountable, get people the help they need for reintegration into society, and focus on results.
We also need jobs.
Las Vegas should be the easiest major city in America to start a business, expand a business, and create jobs. Instead, too many projects are delayed by red tape, uncertainty, and bureaucracy. When development is delayed or canceled, jobs disappear, opportunities are lost, and families pay the price.
If elected, I will work to streamline permitting, improve the reliability of city processes, reduce unnecessary bureaucracy, and make City Hall a partner rather than an obstacle. Businesses, developers, and residents deserve predictable government that responds quickly and efficiently.
My goal is simple: make Las Vegas more affordable, safer, cleaner, and more prosperous.
I believe we can reduce homelessness, support public safety, encourage job creation, and restore confidence in local government. I believe we can bring common sense back to City Hall.
Las Vegas gave me an incredible life and career. Now I want to give back by putting my experience to work for the community that has given me so much.
On Election Day, I respectfully ask for your vote.

Vote Dave Marlon for Las Vegas City Council Ward 6.
Together, we can help Las Vegas become the great city we know it can be.
